Double-Dipping: ABN Approved

The Alliance for Better Nonprofits (ABN) is excited to announce that we have been approved to offer Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) professional development credits for all of our human resources courses. Earning your SHRM Certification demonstrates your commitment to the profession, to your nonprofit organization, and to yourself through lifelong education and professional development.

In 2017, ABN will offer a certificate in Nonprofit Human Resources. Any individual who takes six qualifying courses will earn a Level 1 Certificate. We love double-dipping, so your courses also qualify for SHRM credits!

“All businesses, large or small, rely on personnel to execute strategies and advance their goals; so too do nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits need to perform at the same level as profit-seeking companies when they are faced with the challenges of establishing and maintaining a solid workforce,” says Elle Benson, ABN Director of Training. “Human resources is often overlooked in nonprofit organizations, and for East Tennessee to serve as a role model for the nonprofit industry, we cannot overlook the importance of developing a strong workforce.”

Founded in 1948, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest membership organization devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 275,000 members in over 160 countries, SHRM is the leading provider of resources to serve the needs of HR professionals and advance the professional practice of HR management.
