Standards for Excellence 101

The nationally recognized Standards for Excellence® serve as ABN’s guiding principles in the delivery of our training courses, consulting services, and online resources.
The Standards for Excellence® is a national initiative to promote the highest standards of nonprofit governance, management, and operations. The centerpiece of this initiative is the Standard for Excellence® code, which is a set of proven best practices that helps nonprofits of all sizes and types be more successful in achieving their missions.

ABN Members can take The Standards assessment at no cost. This assessment provides a road map for nonprofits to strengthen their organization through targeted training and consulting. Our members also have the opportunity to pursue accreditation.
Ultimately, Standards for Excellence® provides tools for ABN to boost community support and instill public confidence in the nonprofits of East Tennessee.

Open enrollment for ABN membership and the training course catalogue launches in September. An in-depth workshop on Standards for Excellence® is slated for January 2016.
