Meet the ABN Intern: Anna Gardner

Alliance for Better Nonprofits is thrilled to welcome Anna Gardner as our summer intern. She is working with us in partnership with the University of Tennessee’s Consortium for Social Enterprise Effectiveness.

Anna is serving in multiple capacities with a primary focus on creating a detailed inventory of nonprofits across Knoxville and Upper East Tennessee. Her research is helping ABN tailor services and training classes to the specific needs of organizations in this area.

Bio

Originally from Memphis, Anna is a rising senior at UT in Knoxville, studying marketing with an international business collateral concentration. She is involved in the Chancellor’s Honors Program, Global Leadership Scholars, Central Program Council and Pi Beta Phi Fraternity.

She says, “My interest in non-profit organizations comes from past volunteering experience and involvement with the Center for Leadership and Service at the University of Tennessee. Giving back has always been a part of my life; I have volunteered for various groups such as Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Knoxville Zoo, Norwood Elementary, Make-A-Wish, Water Angels Ministries and many others.”

After graduation, she would like to work in the marketing field and pursue her MBA.

Looking for Interns?

In 2016, ABN will be developing ways we can serve our members by helping match nonprofits with interns. Tell us what you look for in an intern and how they serve your organization!
